"The Politically Correct" Willie P. Richardson

Since 1995, the humorist known as Willie P. Richardson has appeared in hundreds of live events throughout America and abroad, including; theatres, casinos, banquets, churches, store openings, corporate events, cruise ships, fairs, rodeos, radio and television programs, weddings, private parties and at countless other events and venues.  Known to radio listeners as "The Phone Prankster," his recordings have sold more than 1.25 million copies and continue to be aired on hundreds of AM/FM and satellite radio stations. Mr. Richardson's humor is "clean" and is acceptable to all age groups.

Born on August 8, 1947, in Nacogdoches, Texas, he grew up and was educated in East Texas, an area with a very diverse ethnic makeup.  At an early age, he learned to mimic the accents, phrasing and voice inflections of his friends and schoolmates; white "redneck," black, hispanic, middle-eastern and oriental.  For years, he entertained friends and colleagues with innocent depictions featuring various accents and characters.  His entertainment career began with parts in high school and church programs and he's been involved in the business for over 50-years.  His background includes; radio station management, television production, concert production, trade show production, advertising, publicity, entertainment artist booking and management, voiceover production and record production/distribution.

Over the years, he has worked with;  The World-Famous Platters, Percy Sledge, Ray Price, Mel Tillis, Ernest Tubb, Faron Young, The Oak Ridge Boys, The World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, Bob Wills' Original Texas Playboys, Cajun Humorist Justin Wilson, Hank Williams' Original Drifting Cowboys Band, "Brother Dave" Gardner, Governor Jimmie Davis, Johnny Lee, Johnny Rodriguez, The One and Only Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, David Houston, Jimmie C. Newman, Jett Williams, John Conlee, Bill Anderson, T. G. Sheppard, Kelly Lang, Jeff Cook (Alabama), Moe Bandy, Joe Stampley, The Uniques, Gene Watson and countless others.

His recordings of "Phone Pranks by Willie" began as a practical joke which he was asked to play on a "victim" suggested by a friend.  The call to a local hospital's nursery featured Mr. Richardson insisting that the hospital had sent the wrong baby home with his daughter.  After playing it for the victim and her co-workers, they suggested that he record an entire album of calls.   The first album was mailed to radio stations in October of 1995 and received instant positive response from programmers and listeners.

Due to tremendous radio response, he decided to go on the road performing his stand-up comedy routine.  In addition to his road dates, he worked at theatres in Branson, Missouri, and at almost every type of venue imaginable.    He's hosted 'The Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree' and appeard on 'Opry Star Spotlight' in Nashville and was awarded the Cammy Award for Comedian of the Year at the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, SC.

He resides in his hometown of Nacogdoches, Texas, with his family.
